This course is intended to give the student the skills to use algebraic concepts in everyday life. He/She will learn algebra concepts, skills, structure, and application of the material. Instruction in number theory, linear functions, systems of equations, quadratic equations, polynomial operations, exponential functions, probability and statistics, and rational expressions and equations will be included.
In order to receive high school credit, students must earn an overall grade of 80% of higher. This includes the End of Course exam which counts for 20% of their grade.
*The final grade is based on 4 9-weeks averages and the final exam.

Today you will watch a khan academy tutorial (https://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra-basics/core-algebra-systems/core-algebra-systems-tutorial/e/graphing_systems_of_equations) and complete the questions that follow. Screen shot your page once you have gotten 3 correct in a row. Email picture to me at [email protected].
Once you are finished with those work on the following IXLs: Algebra U.1Is (x, y) a solution to the system of equations? U.2Solve a system of equations by graphing For extra practice you can go to CK12.org. To join my class follow the directions below 1. Go to www.ck12.org 2. Click Join to create an account, or Sign In. (Sign in with your google account) 3. Click Groups. 4. Click Join a Group. 5. Enter code: q2vx6 You can also join the class by using this link Below are some IXL you can use to help practice.
T.1Does (x, y) satisfy the inequality? T.2Linear inequalities: solve for y T.3Graph a linear inequality in the coordinate plane T.4Linear inequalities: word problems Re-Takes are next week. Last day will be Friday, retakes must be before school (7:00-7:30) or after school (2:30-3:30).
IXL for this unit: Q.1Relations: convert between tables, graphs, mappings, and lists of points Q.2Domain and range of relations Q.4Identify functions Q.5Identify functions: vertical line test Q.6Complete a function table Q.7Evaluate function rules I Q.9Graph a function S.2Find the slope of a graph S.3Find the slope from two points S.4Find a missing coordinate using slope S.5Slope-intercept form: find the slope and y-intercept S.6Slope-intercept form: graph an equation S.8Slope-intercept form: write an equation S.9Linear equations: solve for y Today we took our graphing inequalities quiz, so homework tonight.
Unit Tests were returned today, retakes will start on Monday. Last day for retakes is Friday March 4th STUDY tonight!! Work on the review sheet you got in class today. Answer KEY can be found below.
Monday: No School! Presidents Day!
Tuesday: Write a Linear Equation when given 1 Point a the Slope Wednesday: Write a Linear Equation when given the Graph Thursday: Unit Review Friday: Linear Equations Unit Test (functions, graphing a line, finding the slope of a line, and writing the equation of a line) There is no homework tonight. Tomorrow in class we will be finishing our notes we started today. Make sure you have your "writing an equation given 2 points" notes for class tomorrow.
