Pre-Algebra - Alegbra - Geometry |
|
This course is intended to give the student the skills to use algebraic concepts in everyday life. He/She will learn algebra concepts, skills, structure, and application of the material. Instruction in number theory, linear functions, systems of equations, quadratic equations, polynomial operations, exponential functions, probability and statistics, and rational expressions and equations will be included.
In order to receive high school credit, students must earn an overall grade of 80% of higher. This includes the End of Course exam which counts for 20% of their grade.
*The final grade is based on 4 9-weeks averages and the final exam.
On tonight's homework you are answering all of the positive numbers!! -If you are in band and missed class today, I have included pictures from our notes.

Tonight's homework is complete #'s 1, 3, & 5 You can get some extra practice using the follwoing IXL: U.10Solve a system of equations using elimination
Unit Test is on Monday March 14th. (Solving a System of Equations)
No homework tonight! But remember the last day to retake any sections of your Equations Unit Test is Monday!!! Retakes must be before school (7:00-7:30) or after school (2:30-3:30).
You can study for those retakes by making the corrections to your test, look over your notes, work out example problems from the notes or work some IXLs. IXLs for Equations Unit: Q.1Relations: convert between tables, graphs, mappings, and lists of points Q.2Domain and range of relations Q.4Identify functions Q.5Identify functions: vertical line test Q.6Complete a function table Q.7Evaluate function rules I Q.9Graph a function S.2Find the slope of a graph S.3Find the slope from two points S.4Find a missing coordinate using slope S.5Slope-intercept form: find the slope and y-intercept S.6Slope-intercept form: graph an equation S.8Slope-intercept form: write an equation S.9Linear equations: solve for y We started working on solving a system of equations by substitution today. If you would like to start practicing this skill you can work the following IXL. U.8Solve a system of equations using substitution No homework tonight! we took our Solutions to Systems and Solving Systems by Graphing quiz in class today.
Below is homework. Don't forget, you have a quiz tomorrow on solutions to a system and solving by graphing. For extra practice you can work on your IXLs too. U.1Is (x, y) a solution to the system of equations? U.2Solve a system of equations by graphing
Graph the following systems on your graph paper. Put each set of lines on one graph.
y=3x+4 y=-2/3x y=5x-1/2 y=x-2 y=4-2/3x y=-1/2+5x |
